Welcome to ? Shotview Photographers Management 1 Citation Fluid Image Rescaling Without Flash
Published March 17, 2008
I didn?t want to post this site to the gallery because it doesn?t fit the criteria for approved sites, but it does have a very cool feature that I think is worth sharing. If you take a look at SHOTVIEW, you?ll find what appears to be a typical, fixed-width image portfolio. If, however, you resize the browser window, the images rescale to fill the available space as the footer stays fixed to the bottom of the viewport. Then, when you release the browser and settle on a window size, the image rescales and is updated with a decent quality version. It?s very elegant stuff, and apparently it doesn?t use Flash at all. Check it out., blogmarks.net

Using Java to find the needle in the DNA haystack 1 Citation Genetics databases hold extremely large amounts of raw data. The human genome alone has approximately 3 billion DNA base pairs. To search through all this data and find meaningful relationships within it, molecular biologists are depending more and more on efficient computer science string algorithms. This article introduces you to three such algorithms, all of which use dynamic programming, and advanced Java algorithmic technique that solves optimization problems from the bottom up by finding optimal solutions to subproblems., blogmarks.net

1 Citation Gyoza is kind of ravioli... meat and vegetables are filled in a skin, which is made from flour. After filling, you can fry it, boil it or steam it. Gyoza is not a traditional dish in Japan -- it was derived from China 50 years ago (during/after the WW2). Although many Japanese people think it is Chinese dishes, there are some differences now. The biggest difference between Chinese gyoza and Japanese one is the skin and the way to cook. A Chinese gyoza has thicker skin, and usually they boil it. In Japan, the skin is thinner and most popular way is steaming after/before frying the bottom., blogmarks.net
