1 Citation Inspiration: 100+ years of Architectural progress that occurred in Chicago since the great fire of
1871 that have consequently surrounds us in today's Architecture. Ever since I can remember, I
have always been fascinated by the iconic Chicago Skyline. This later inspired me to explore
Architecture in hopes of one day becoming an Architect. My only time away from that inspiring
Chicago Skyline was during my college years when I received my Professional Degree in
Architecture with an emphasis on the Philosophy of Design Theory at Kansas State University in
1996., blogmarks.net

Pwireframing: Paper Wireframing - mStoner - Blog 1 Citation Two clients of ours from Bethel University, Mark Erickson (Director of Web Communications) and Michael Vedders (Director of Web Technology), came to mStoner?s Chicago office for two days earlier in the month to work directly with us on the Bethel strategy document. The idea was that two days of intense collaboration and discussion would produce a more cohesive report, better suited to Bethel?s needs. It Doesn?t Get Any More Old School than Paper and ScissorsPart of this two day process was an exercise that I like to call paper wireframing, or Pwireframing. It?s an idea that came to me based on a link that my colleague Laurel Hechanova sent me: The Design Police Visual Enforcement Kit. If you take a look at this page, it?s essentially a print-it-yourself sticker kit, laying out a bunch of funny ?laws? you can stick to a piece of communication., blogmarks.net

1 Citation These maps show the distribution of income (per capita) around the 25 largest metropolitan areas in the US (all those with population greater than 2,000,000). The goal was to test the "donut" hypothesis ? the idea that a city will create concentric rings of wealth and poverty, with the rich both in the suburbs and in the "revitalized" downtown, and the poor stuck in between.
This does seem to have some validity in older cities like Boston, New York, Philadelphia, or Chicago, but in newer cities it is not the case. Instead of donuts, one finds "wedges" of wealth occupying a continuous pie-slice from the center to the periphery., blogmarks.net

Government Seizes WaMu and Sells Some Assets - NYTimes.com 1 Citation Washington Mutual, with $307 billion in assets, is by far the biggest bank failure in history, eclipsing the 1984 failure of Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust in Chicago, an event that presaged the savings and loan crisis. IndyMac, which was seized by regulators in July, was one-tenth the size of WaMu., blogmarks.net
