Manauton

1 Citation
Manauton is a program used to digitally record sound. Manauton can operate in a manual or autonomous mode, hence the name Manauton. When in manual mode, recording can be paused and unpaused with a key-press or remote control. This is similar to a tape recorder, but with a difference, there is no latency! As a matter of fact, Manauton works with negative latency. This negative latency cancels out the effect of the human latency associated with hearing a sound interpreting it and reacting to the sound. Negative latency is accomplished by buffering the sound in memory prior to recording to disk., blogmarks.net

PowerPoint Prototyping Toolkit (release 0.2) - istartedsomething

1 Citation
After hearing about the impact and success it had in Microsoft, I couldn?t wait to get my hands on prototyping in PowerPoint 2007. Amongst a few things Manuel Clement suggested a few weeks ago in his presentation about ?wireframe prototyping with Office PowerPoint 2007?, was to create a toolkit of commonly used GUI components to copy and paste when designing the prototype screens. That?s what I set out to build., blogmarks.net

Type Faces, an interview with type designer Kris Sowersby | i love typography

1 Citation
Many of you will have heard of Kris Sowersby, and something tells me that we?re going to be hearing a lot more about him. He?s the guy behind the sans serif typeface National and the serif typeface Feijoa; he was also on the team of three that created (perhaps type of the year?) FF Meta Serif., blogmarks.net

Meep - KeenWiki

1 Citation
They can produce sound in large booms of several decibels. These are usually lethal to anyone hearing them, and can pass through solid materials without diminishing in strength or lethality, making them even more dangerous. These sound waves are so strong they can even stop Keen's bullets., blogmarks.net

More Bloggers Raising Money. Here Come The Politics. And Here Comes My Rant.

1 Citation
More blogs are raising venture capital, we?re hearing from people they?ve pitched. Newcomer Silicon Alley Insider is looking for a $3 - $5 million round, if reports are correct. And PaidContent is pitching for a second round in that same range (PaidContent raised a round of ?less than $1 million? in 2006). We?re also hearing that PaidContent is trying to sell the company for $15 million or more, and just bail out with some spending money. These rumored deals come as funding for bloggers is heating up in general. Just a month ago VentureBeat reported a $320,000 raise. In 2007 we saw Sugar Inc. ($10 million), GigaOm ($1 million), Xconomy, Blogher ($3.5 million) and The Huffington Post ($10 million) raise venture capital. That?s at least $25 million in 2007 invested in blogs and blog networks., blogmarks.net

Six-Word Reviews of 763 SXSW Mp3s by Paul Ford - The Morning News

1 Citation
"I recently downloaded the SXSW 2008 torrent file, which contains nearly 48 continuous hours of music from 763 acts appearing this week at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas (these bands elected to give away MP3s; they represent less than half of the total number of acts). I found myself wondering how to locate the songs worth hearing, and imagined that others were having the same problem. Thus, the 763 reviews you?ll find below. For brevity, I kept each to exactly six words.", blogmarks.net
