Power Factor Correction and Efficiency

1 Citation
When voltage and current are out-of-phase, the cosine of the angular displacement is called the power factor (PF), or more specifically, the displacement power factor (DpPF). Displacing the current waveform from the voltage waveform reduces the electricity's effectiveness in doing work. Power factor correction. Consider a 750kVA load operating at 80% lagging PF. Construct a power triangle to help determine the kW and kVAR components of the power (Fig. 1A above). Solving for the real and reacti, technorati.com

Space Porn

Sorry to tell you this, but there will be no pictures of hot, green-skinned alien women running after Capt. Kirk*. No, I?m talking about actual photos of hot planets in space. Really. Here?s a little description of the picture for you from Boston.com , the website of the Boston Globe. Just a little something to get your blood, technorati.com

changed motor and capacitor still have to push start fan

1 Citation
May 17th, 2009 Goto commentsLeave a comment I just changed the fan condenser fan motor and capacitor (both from the same electrical motor shop) and I still have to give the fan the slightest push to start it, then it runs and cools fine. I have a Goodman unit with a dual capacitor. any ideas would be appreciated.Check the line voltage going to the motor and if it?s correct then recheck your capacitor. If the voltage is OK and the capacitor is OK, then you may have a defective or worn out motor, technorati.com
