Wednesday I pick D. up at school for speech therapy and his teacher pulls me aside. "D kicked me today," she tells me, raising her skirt to show me her bruise. "And he ran away from Miss Betty, and so he had to miss snack. I always make them miss the next activity, and it was snack. I wanted to tell you." Thursday I am in the grocery store, buying cupcakes for D's class. My cell phone rings. I answer. It is D's teacher, who tells me that D has kicked the assistant and hurt her, and she wou, technorati.com

Yesterday I gave you the good. Today, the less good. Prior to leaving for this trip, I contacted Royal Caribbean via email: My family and I have booked a cruise on Voyager of the Seas from Galveston on Jan 25. We have 4 children, and one has special needs. He has an overgrowth syndrome called Sotos syndrome which means is physically larger than his peers -- he will be 5 when we sail, but he is the size of a 9 or 10 year old child. He also has a speech delay and some speech articulation issues, technorati.com

I read something that resonated with me over the weekend. I've spoken before about my strong reaction when people say that "God only gives you what you can handle." But I had a hard time explaining why that sentiment bothers me so much. And then I read this . That's it! Are you telling me that if I were weaker, D's DNA would be normal? You know what I have to say to that? BITE ME. Much like Dramalish , I've decided that my mental health is more important than the awkward feeling random, technorati.com

So much to say.

Don't think my lack of posting has anything to do with not wanting to write or having nothing to say. Just the sign of a lot of deadlines, which is great if you need money for food, but less great if you depend on your bloggers for regular content. So. When I am not plotting how to leave my husband for Jack Bauer (not Kiefer Sutherland, mind you, JACK BAUER. WHO DOES NOT EXIST.), I am reading and thinking and reading and writing AMAZING posts in my head that somehow never make it to the screen, technorati.com
