11 Citation In the most recent issue of Quilting Arts Magazine, ten fabulous entries in the "Rock On" challenge were published. Of course, I had hoped my entry would be chosen, but it was not. I had decided not to reveal it here, on the small chance it would be selected. But now that it's "in the clear", I'd like to share it with you. "Show us with fabric and stitch what your favorite musicians and/or lyrics have meant to you" was charge of the challenge. Well, one of my all-time favorite songs is "In, technorati.com

Technique of the Week: Rock & Roll 1 Citation For this technique, you?ll need a solid or mostly solid image stamp. I used the background single flower from Heartfelt Thanks. You?ll also need two different colors of ink. I used Cameo Coral and Ruby Red. The first thing to do is stamp the image in the light color of ink first. Make sure to ink up the entire stamp. Next, you want to roll the edges of your stamp around in the darker color of ink. The goal is to get darker ink around the edges, but not in the middle of the stamp, technorati.com

1 Citation Typing out that title reminded me of the Friends episode with the Holiday Armadillo . Anywho? Today?s card is one I stamped using some new clear stamps I got from Inkadinkadoo. They?re just the small $1 size ones, but this little turtle is so cute!!!! I stamped him in Jet Black Staz-on on watercolor paper and used a blender pen and ink pads to color him in. I used Kiwi Kiss as the card base and sponged some Old Olive ink around the bottom edges. The sentiment reads ?Birthdays are go, technorati.com

1 Citation These cute circle cards were made with the Nestabilities standard and scalloped circle dies. Stamp sets: Carte Postale, God's Beauty, Inspired by Nature. The images were stamped in black StazOn ink and the butterfly was colored a sponge brayer. I love the soft look the sponge brayer gives. No streaks when you use that one! The red shades are made with chalk and a Q-tip or your finger. Hope you enjoy these Spring cards! Thanks for visiting!, technorati.com

1 Citation This card uses an image from the retired Hostess set, Serene Spring. The images were stamped with black StazOn ink and colored with a combination of chalks, Aqua Painter and markers, and sponging. The butterfly was stamped twice, colored, cut out and layered onto the card. Glitter was added to the butterfly and a few spots of glitter are in the flower centers. The corner embellishment was cut with a Cuttlebug die. Details that I worked hardest on were shading the pot and flowers, leaving u, technorati.com

Lovely as a Tree in a more summery scene 1 Citation I copied this card from Michelle Zindorf. She makes amazing cards and gives tutorials for them too... So I followed the tutorial and made my own card. It was quite fun to make. The sky portion is made with the brayer. The other colours are sponged along a mask. The tree was stamped first using Mellow Moss Craft stampin' pad and embossed with clear emboss powder., technorati.com

1 Citation This pretty card was designed by my friend Mary Hart. We were having a fun evening of stamping with friends. We all used the same stamp set, and this is the card Mary designed. Don't you love it? She used Botanical Blooms and the Top Note die cut. Colors are Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White. The scallop edge punch, corner rounder, and small oval punch added extra details. Celery ink was sponged around the flowers, and the dotted swiss embossing folder by Cu, technorati.com

1 Citation Have you ever been thwarted by a plan in your head that just didn't seem to look right on paper? Then you have to figure out whether you're going to start over or try to make it work? That's what happened with this card. I wanted the penguins to be surrounded by lots of packages, but then I realized that they were going to be overwhelmed by them - at least in the way that I'd stamped them. So I decided to put the penguins on pop dots in hopes that the extra dimension made them ... well, pop out., technorati.com

1 Citation In recent weeks, I?ve become increasingly despondent due to the relationship with my family. I know I love them really, but it?s just one of those things that really needs a bit of distance. It?s not good to live with your close family all of the time. In the end, you just get frustrated with them. Their quirks, habits and annoying features all get under your skin. If I wasn?t living here, I wouldn?t be witnessing them on a daily, if not minutely basis. The problems range from my younger sis, technorati.com
