Plugins | jQuery Plugins TextArea Resizer

1 Citation
This project allows the user to extend the textarea element/area within the web page whenever they feel. I noticed this functionality when adding a plugin to this website, I guess it's not used that often on other websites. It is part of the Drupal code, although I haven't much experience with Drupal. I found it useful and could see an immediate use for it on one of the web applications tha, blogmarks.net

Clearing a float container without source markup

1 Citation
When a float is contained within a container box that has a visible border or background, that float does not automatically force the container's bottom edge down as the float is made taller. Instead the float is ignored by the container and will hang down out of the container bottom like a flag. Those familiar only with Explorer for Windows may scratch their heads and say "That's not right!" True, IE/Win does enclose a float within a container 'automatically', but only if the container element happens to possess the MS-only quality called hasLayout., blogmarks.net

XHTML Role Attribute Module

1 Citation
The attribute describes the role(s) the current element plays in the context of the document. This can be used, for example, by applications and assistive technologies to determine the purpose of an element. This could allow a user to make informed decisions on which actions may be taken on an element and activate the selected action in a device independent way. It could also be used as a mechanism for annotating portions of a document in a domain specific way (e.g., a legal term taxonomy).how you can improve the definition of what is what. Those roles are present into ARIA., blogmarks.net

Setting Equal Heights with jQuery | Filament Group, Inc.

1 Citation
We wrote a script to "equalize" the heights of boxes within the same container and create a tidy grid ? with little overhead. Creating the visual effect of equal-height columns or content boxes has been a challenge ever since we abandoned table-based layouts. When developing complex web applications or site designs we've found that it often makes the most sense from a usability and performance standpoint to use a simple JavaScript workaround: our equalHeights() function determines the heights of all sibling elements in a container, and then sets each element's minimum height to that of the tallest element. When JavaScript is disabled, the boxes or columns appear with varying heights, but the content remains legible and the page is still completely usable., blogmarks.net
